Eric Lawson This album transports me to Santa Cruz, circa 2012. Sunny beachy vibes, lustrous textures, lyrical bass lines, swooping dynamics, excellent playing by everyone. It's fun! Favorite track: Indigo Strut.

about

The Eclipse Suite was written collaboratively based solely on a poem by Gary Young. For me, it was found in a book "Even So" on pg. 153 sitting in Bookshop Santa Cruz. It is also found in his book "Pleasure". It begins with "There was a total eclipse of the sun..."

We would like to thank Mr. Gary Young for his poetry. We would also like to thank Saint John Coltrane and Eric Harland for their music, guidance, and inspiration. And we would like to thank that yellow house over on Encinal St. and anyone related and the house itself for their conversation, inspiration, space and spirit, and many hours of insanity to make this music.

Sincerely,
Eat The Sun
Kevin / Zack / Kai
